What is Shuri Castle?
Shuri Castle was used as the royal palace of the Kingdom of Okinawa (Ryukyu Kingdom) from the 15th to the 19th century. It was the home of successive Ryukyu kings and the political and cultural center of the country. Today, many tourists visit the castle to enjoy its magnificent buildings, gardens, and traditional Ryukyu architecture. Shuri Castle has a main hall, a north hall, a south hall, and a beautiful garden, allowing you to experience Okinawa's history and culture.
